Information and Referral Services

When you don't know where to start in your search for services, call 919-872-7933 and ask for the Information Department. Resources for Seniors' knowledgeable and experienced staff will:

  • listen to your situation
  • help you determine what services you need
  • search an extensive database to find out what services are available
  • direct you to the appropriate agencies
  • send you helpful materials and lists of resources

Information and Referral Specialists are available from 8 am to 5 pm, five days a week. They can e-mail, fax, or mail copies of resource information as well as act as a consultant for you while you figure out the puzzle of eldercare.

Information Services is also responsible for our Directory of Resources for Older and Disabled Adults in Wake County, updated yearly. This 100+ page comprehensive directory of services is available to be picked up at no charge at our main office, Senior Centers, and Total Life Centers. I & R specialists access a computerized database of nearly 1,000 community resources, which is also available online in the Community Resource Database. They can help locate and explain information on a vast array of available services in Wake County, including:

  • Companion and homemaker services
