In Home Care Services

Do you or your loved one need some assistance with care in the home? Resources for Seniors is a good place to start your search.

Resources for Seniors began Wake County’s first home care service in 1974. Our CNAs (certified nursing assistants), under the supervision of social workers and nurses, provide assistance with activities such as:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Grooming
  • Medication Reminders
  • Meal Preparation
  • Laundry
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Shopping

We are a private duty service accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Home Care.

In addition, Resources for Seniors administers public funding for cost-shared in-home programs that provide limited home care at subsidized rates for Wake County residents who have no caregiver, or whose caregivers need a break (respite) from caregiving.

If your needs are limited to the "hands-off" activities such as meal preparation, laundry, shopping, etc, you may be interested in hiring a companion/sitter or homemaker instead of a CNA.

Resources for Seniors sponsors a registry of companions who offer their services as independent contractors. Visit our Companion Program page for more information about this program.

Contact us at 919-872-7933 or email us for more information about our services and rates. If we can't meet your needs, we will gladly provide you with referrals to other agencies.
