Transportation program takes ambulatory cancer patients to cancer therapy appointments. To request transportation, callers need to provide dates, times, type of appointment, distance from treatment center, treatment center contact info, doctor's name, and emergency contact for patient. Patient, doctor's office, cancer treatment center may call to reserve the rides. Four day notice is required. Regional office in Atlanta takes calls and refers to a local coordinator. This is a volunteer-driven program, therefore drivers are not always available. Requests need to be made 5 business days in advance. Free of charge.
