Program Description:

Assistance with minor home repairs, adaptive and accessibility bathroom equipment, and a variety of other home improvement needs for health and safety in the home. Examples of repairs that can be done under a sliding-scale fee include roof repairs, ramps, hand rails, grab bars, repairing heating units, and minor plumbing. Larger work orders can be done on a private pay basis or under one of several grant programs. All projects overseen by a licensed contractor. Referrals for all home repair programs are given to Mark Valletta, Program Director, who will determine what program best fits the client's needs and resources. Urgent Repair Program serves elderly, disabled, and some other clients whose income is less than 50% of area median income ($28,000/yr for one or $32,000 for two-person household). Deferred, forgivable loan program for repairs up to $5000, Sliding scale work requests tend to have a 1-2 month wait list, depending on the job; private pay requests can usually be accommodated more quickly.
