Program Description:

This Ombudsman Program provides information regarding long-term care in the 7-county Triangle J region (Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham, Moore, Lee, and Johnston counties). Ombudsmen are advocates for rights of residents in long-term care facilities, and can assist residents and families to resolve problems that may arise with a facility. They may also be helpful during the placement process, to assist families as they select a facility for a loved one. They are not permitted to provide direct recommendations of specific facilities, but can educate families about what to look for and how to evaluate facility ratings and complaint history.
