This agency licenses physicians, physician assistants (PA's), perfusionists, and anesthesiologist assistants, and approves nurse practitioners and clinical pharmacist practitioners. The Medical Board also regulates the practice of medicine in North Carolina. The Board's web site allows you to search for a practitioner licensed or approved to practice in NC by name, location, and/or specialty, and provides detailed information including contact information, educational background, and license status. The web site also provides public disciplinary action information, when appropriate. The public may file a complaint with the Board regarding a practitioner. A complaint form can be found on the Board's web site or by contacting the Board and requesting to speak with a member of the Complaint Department.
